VIOLONCELLO – PETR NOUZOVSKÝ (CZECH REPUBLIC)

Petr Nouzovský has gone from strength to strength, having embarked upon an impressive career. As the winner of New Master on Tour (2007), of the Europäische Förderpreis für Musik (2007) and as laureate of the Val Tidone Competition (2011) or Johannes Brahms Competition (2013), he performed in important festivals in Italy, Austria, Japan, Slovakia, China, Germany, Algeria, Russia, Spain and USA.

Mr. Nouzovský made his debut in Amsterdam’s famed Concertgebouw hall in 2008. Other important venues include the Pablo Casals Festival (2010), Moritzburg Festival (2010), Santander Festival (2011) and Kasseler Musiktage in (2011). He has had the singular honor of being a regular guest at the Prague Spring Festival since 2005, and has also appeared in major venues in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kyoto, Alger, The Hague, and Buenos Aires. He regularly performs with leading Czech and foreign orchestras (SWF Philharmonie, Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Radio Orchestra and 20 others) and conductors (Ronald Zollman, Jan Schultsz, Jakub Hrůša, Jose Miguel Rodilla, Petr Altrichter, Gerd Schaller, Misha Katz, Mischa Rachlevsky, Fan Tao, Paweł Kotla, Artur Sędzielarz,

Ondrej Lenárd, Caspar Richter, Charles Olivieri – Munroe, Koji Kawamoto, Leoš Svárovský, Petr Vronský, Rastislav Štúr, Peter Feranec, and many more) and is a sought – after chamber musician (Talich Quartet, Vlach Quartet, Ilian Garnetz, Gerard Wyss, Daishin Kashimoto). Petr Nouzovský was one of only ten cellists, selected from hundreds of applicants worldwide, to attend the legendary Piatigorsky Seminars in Los Angeles, and even more exceptionally, he was invited to return a second time. Having attended master classes all over the world with legends such as Mstislav Rostropovich, Boris Pergamenscikov, Franz Helmerson and David Geringas, Petr Nouzovský now conducts his own annual series of master classes in Trebon in South Bohemia. He has given workshops and classes in Peru, Bogota, Yekaterinburg, Atlanta and Wroclaw and has sat on international competition juries (Concertino Praga, Prague Spring Competition 2012). Petr Nouzovský has appeared on 25 CDs, as soloist or chamber musician, on the CUBE Bohemia, Radioservis, Parma, Albany, Supraphon and Navona labels, and has recorded over 30 hours of music for Czech Radio. Petr Nouzovský graduated from the Prague Conservatory and received an MM degree from the Prague Academy of Music. He studied further at Dresden’s Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber and the Royal Conservatory in Madrid. His busy concert schedule includes some 150 solo or chamber music concerts in a year.
